Summary
What if Coraline had fallen for Beldam's tricks, what would have
happened if she gave in to her deepest wishes?
     | ORANGE | | Coraline X The Other Mother |
Notes
This story does not reflect my opinion on underage sex, it is but a
story with entertaining purposes for those who read it. I decided to
write this because I couldn't find any stories involving Coraline X
Beldam, and I was really interested in reading a story like this.
This will follow the movie's story, but I'm not sure if I'll add
Wybie. I'm probably going to change something on the plot and things
will probably be a little/lot different from the movie, keep that in
     mind.
***** Doll *****
Coraline was bored.
Not because she didn't have what to do, in fact, she had a whole new house to
explore. The girl could go upstairs and look at the bedrooms, she could check
the bathrooms or go outside and play. However, she was bored, hungry, sitting
on the kitchen staring at her mother in front of her, working. Usually, her
parents were busy, unable to give her any attention at all, which could be
pretty depressing depending on how long it kept going. The bluenette sighed and
closed her eyes.
"Mom...?"
"What is it, Coraline?"- it almost sounded like a furious growl.
"Can we please go out and play on the garden?"
"Not now, I'm busy, can't you see?"
The girl moaned in annoyance and decided to go and see her father, he was
probably working, as always, but it was worth a try. Her footsteps were slow
and short, followed by a squeaky sound each time her feet reached the ground.
The house was old, she guessed that stuff like that could and would probably
happen. Coraline opened a door leading to her father's office, the man was
obviously working, his back curled towards the computer screen, his face buried
on the keyboard.
"Dad?" - her voice was sweet, and the man noticed her instantly.
"What is it, pumpkin?" - he kept working, which annoyed her, but at least he
wasn't as rough as her mom.
"Can we please go out and play on the garden?"
"I'm sorry, sweetpea, dad is busy. I promise I'll take you out and buy ice
cream as soon as I finish things over here, deal?" - he moved his chair and
turned back to watch the little Coraline.
As far as she wanted to go out and play in that exact moment, waiting for ice
cream was still a good option, so she opened up a small smile and hugged her
father.
"Now, why don't you go and explore the house? I bet you haven't seen all of it
yet!"
The girl nodded and left the office. Now she was willing to explore that huge
house, even though it wasn't something she would normally do. She quickly went
upstairs, looking for her bedroom was the first thing that came in mind. After
opening a few doors, the girl found what she was looking for. The room wasn't
that big and it wasn't anything special, a bed, a wardrobe and a window. "Could
be worse, right?" - she thought, leaving the room and closing the door.
Coraline looked through the upper floor, finding the bathroom and her parents'
room. Then, she looked downstairs, the kitchen and the office she had already
explored, then there was only one room left, the parlor.
There were a few windows on the room, a couch, a fireplace and a very, very
small door. She instantly ran to the door, and opened it. The bluenette thought
something cool was behind it, something that would make her insanely surprised
and happy, unfortunately, she was wrong. There was but a wall full of bricks
behind the little door. She sighed and punched the bricks, regretting doing it
in the instant her hand reached the wall.
"Ouch!" - she kissed all of her fingers, but they were still hurting.
Coraline decided to go and see the garden herself, and maybe play a little bit.
Alone. The girl left her house, the front door was still opened. She ran
towards the garden, there wasn't much to be seen or much to be done. Dead trees
gave her shivers and dead flowers made her feel down. The sky was quickly
becoming grey, dark clouds covering everything. It would probably rain a lot,
so she needed to go back home soon. The kid started to run in circles through
the garden, stomping the grass with each step, her yellow boots were making
squishy noises, maybe it was because of the dirt or the grass.
She ran until her body felt weak. Her movements abruptly came to an end, and
she was dizzy, she tripped over her feet and fell on the ground, the girl
rolled a little bit and soon stopped. She wasn't dirty or anything, but her
head was feeling dizzy, and she could barely move. Her vision was a bit blurry,
but Coraline was sure that there was something in front of her. With a lot of
strength, the girl managed to sit and looked towards the strange object in
front of her. It was a small doll, with button eyes. The problem was that it
looked exactly like her.
"What? Did mom or dad make this for me?" - she stood on her feet, took the doll
and started to walk back home, weak thunders were starting to take care of the
sky.
"I'm home!" - Coraline screamed, looking for her mother.
Mel was still working on the kitchen, staring at her computer screen.
Apparently she had cooked something, and Coraline was hungry, so she would
gladly eat.
"What's for dinner, mom?"
"Eggs."
The bluenette sighed, expecting something else. It was better than nothing,
with that in mind, she ate without saying a single word, not that her mom would
mind talking to her anyway. As soon as she finished eating two eggs, she took
her plate to the sink and ran to her bedroom with the little Coraline doll with
her. The girl took her boots and jacket off, leaving her on a red stripped
sweater and baggy pants, besides her socks, which were red as well. She climbed
on the bed and rested her head on a soft pillow, she hugged the doll and closed
her eyes, gently drifting away to dream's realm.
The girl was sleeping quietly, her grip on the doll eventually got weaker. Her
mind was slowly forcing her to wake up, as a squeaky noise was invading her
ears. The girl gently opened her eyes, she stared a small mouse jumping on her
door. Her thoughts weren't coherent, as she was just waking up. The girl
hesitantly got off of the bed and walked towards the mouse, but it quickly
jumped away, so she started to run trying to reach it. The girl was chasing the
mouse, while the small being was running away from her. They quickly reached
the parlor, the mice entered the little door through a small crack. Coraline
saw it and pried the door open.
She gasped as soon as her vision processed the beautiful image. There weren't
any bricks or wall, the was only a purple tunnel in a cone shape. She looked
back, making sure no one could see her, and Coraline rapidly started to crawl
through the small passage. Her heart was beating far too quickly, and the girl
couldn't tell why, but she was feeling super excited about what would happen
after she got to the end of that corridor.
To her surprise, when she got to the end, she was in the same room, the same
parlor, the same little door. Her heart stopped pounding too fast, gradually
returning to it's normal state, while her mind was still drowned in confusion.
It seemed like a maze, maybe it was just a corridor that led to the same spot.
Coraline noticed the kitchen's light was shining bright, and decided to take a
look at it.
Her feet slowly walked up to the door, and she heard a woman singing something,
couldn't exactly tell what it was. She saw a feminine figure, and quickly
noticed it was her mother. The woman was cooking something, and it's smell was
divine, it got Coraline in a trance, and she just kept walking towards her mom.
The girl didn't even notice her steps, only following the delicious smell of
well-prepared food. Her head bumped against her mother's butt and she suddenly
woke up of that food-hypnosis.
"Oh, hey there sweetie." - she turned back, staring at the blue-haired girl.
Coraline walked back a few steps, that woman had buttons instead of eyes, and
it gave her shivers through the whole body, almost sending her to the ground.
She was astonished, thousands of questions flying through her mind, and most of
them were about those button-eyes. "Can she see? Can she cry? Is her vision
okay?" - she thought to herself, unable to look away.
"You aren't my mother." - Coraline finally stood and stared deeply into those
button-eyes, courage filling her veins.
"Oh, sweetheart, I'm your other mother!"
"Other mother?" - it confused the girl even more, almost disturbing her.
"Of course! Everyone has an other mother." - she smiled and started to take a
few plates to the dinner table. "Now, Coraline, let's eat! You must be hungry!"
Indeed, she was hungry. Eating two eggs was far from enough, and if she had the
chance to eat something good, hell yeah, she would. She pulled a chair and sat
on it, leaving her thoughts aside, only thinking about how much she would eat
and how good it smelled. The 'other mother' as she called herself, sat on a
chair as well. There were unending options for the girl to pick, chicken, fish,
meat, salad, she could eat anything she wanted. Coraline chose to eat the
chicken, as the smell was entrancing her since she got there.
"You can eat as much as you want, sweetie. You can pick a juice as well, what
will it be?"
A chandelier with lots of different options of juice came down from the
ceiling, Coraline picked her cup and lifted it towards the strawberry one, it
was soon filled with a red liquid and the chandelier went back to it's original
position.
"Your other father won't be able to join us today, dearest, he is too busy
working on something for you, I hope you don't mind it."
"Working on something for me?"
"Of course! But it's a surprise, so don't you even try to convince me, young
lady." - the other mother laughed and 'booped' Coraline's nose.
The girl laughed as well, but her mouth was full of chicken, so it was rather a
funny laugh, which made the older woman laugh even more. Even though Coraline
knew something was wrong with that place, she was way too entertained with her
mother. Or with her other mother. She was feeling happy, for the first time in
ages she felt loved again and the thought of being close to her mom, being
loved by her, made her blush, and her cheeks were burning slightly. After the
laughter stopped, she just kept smiling to her 'mother', and tried to finish
eating. They just sat there for god-knows-how-long, Coraline was eating and the
other mother was just watching her, hitting her red-polish nails against the
wooden table.
Coraline was feeling blissfully happy, of course, there wasn't much happening
besides her eating and barely talking to her mother. Or to her 'other mother'.
She would obviously need to get to know that woman, and eventually her 'other
father', which was doing something for her, apparently. However, if things kept
going the same way, she would probably enjoy it without worrying too much.
The bluenette finished eating, she was feeling super full, her hunger sated.
She probably ate too much, but you can never control it when you're hungry. The
other mother took her plate to the sink and returned to the table, but she
didn't sit, instead, she stared Coraline, making the girl blush harder.
"What is it, sweetpea?" - the other mother kneeled in front of 'her' little
girl.
The girl didn't know what was happening to her, she was simply feeling nervous
and rather sleepy, maybe because she ate too much. The sleepy part she could
understand, but she couldn't understand why she was nervous. Being scared was
understandable, being confused too, but being nervous wasn't normal.
"I think I'm tired." - she yawned lightly, making the other mother smile.
Coraline noticed the small mole on her face, and it was another difference
spotted, so it reminded her that the woman in front of her wasn't her real
mother, Coraline needed to keep her eyes opened, even if she felt happy, even
if she felt loved. Better safe than sorry.
"So let's go upstairs, sweetie, I'll take you to your bed." - she gave her hand
to Coraline and the girl held it.
The girls went upstairs, Coraline somehow felt safe with her 'other mother',
deep inside she knew something was wrong, but her brain didn't let her know
that, after being forgotten by her parents for so long, it was good to feel
safe, to feel loved. As soon as they entered the bedroom, Coraline gasped in
surprise. There were toys walking through the room, singing and jumping. She
looked at the 'other mother' and the woman was smiling. The small girl couldn't
help it but smile as well. Even if it was strange, she was happy, things were
funny and she liked being loved.
The other mother helped Coraline climb on the bed and she made sure 'her' girl
was feeling good and comfortable.
"Are you okay now, dearest Coraline?
"I am, thank you." - she yawned again. "Can you please sleep with me tonight?"
The other mother smiled again, her white shiny teeth making Coraline blush
again. Of course she would sleep with 'her' girl, she would do everything for
the little girl, her child was the most important person in the world.
The woman climbed on the small bed and got under the covers with Coraline,
staring at her child which was blushing very hard by now. They both closed
their eyes, Coraline drifted off to sleep quickly, the presence of her 'other
mother' made her feel safe.

Coraline wasn't sure about how much she had slept, but she woke up on her bed,
alone. The room was apparently normal, her toys weren't jumping or walking
around, and her other mother was nowhere to be found, the little Coraline was
resting near her feet. The sun was already shining on the sky, and that was her
warning to get out of bed. Her socks touched the ground and the girl went out
of her bedroom, she didn't know if her parents were home or not, but they were
probably working, like they always were every single day.
The events of the previous night came to her mind, and it made her happy but
confused at the same time. "Was it just a dream? I really hope not." In fact,
it was all too realistic to be a dream, she was sure a dream wouldn't feel that
real, she wouldn't be able to have imagined all of that. The idea of creating a
mother with button-eyes never even crossed her mind before, that was one point
to reality. Even if it was all a dream, it made her feel happier than in real
life, were dreams supposed to be like that? Probably not. On the other side of
the coin, if it hadn't been a dream, she would probably have another chance to
go back to that universe and see her other mother again, and even meet her
other father, the thought gave her a good feeling about herself, Coraline was
feeling positive about that day.
"Good morning, mom!" - she kissed her mother's cheek, the woman barely reacted,
focused on her computer.
"Morning."
Coraline didn't even bother to think about her mother's boring reactions, she
was happy and planned to stay that way. The kid opened the refrigerator and
grabbed a bottle of orange juice. She had an idea, a mean one, a definitely bad
idea, but her mother wasn't really paying attention. She opened the bottle and
drank directly from the source, Mel didn't even move her eyes away from the
screen. Coraline closed the door and drank the last drops of the sweet liquid.
"Hello sweetpea!" - her father hugged her. "Did you sleep well?"
"Good morning dad! I had this amazing dream and it definitely was a good night
of sleep!"- she lied about it being a dream, the girl was confident it had been
real.
"An amazing dream? What was it about?"
"Well..." - she was cut, her mother growling.
"Coraline, your father SHOULD be working, right, honey?" - she stared the man
as if she wanted to suck his soul out of his body.
"Tell me about it later, okay, little girl?"
"Yeah, yeah, dad."
Coraline's dad got a banana and a glass of juice, running back to his office
and closing the door with a sound that ran through the whole house. The
bluenette stared her mother, she had noticed by now, her father wanted to do
more for her, but apparently, her mom didn't want him to do so. As a matter of
fact, Coraline could barely understand how someone could be so busy like they
were. Working every single day of the month, never-ending work and no
affection. She missed the days her parents weren't as busy, and she missed her
friends a lot, she could at least be playing with team instead of having her
mother yelling at her father because he wanted to talk to his daughter.
She decided to go outside and do something else. The girl ran back to her room
and put on her yellow clothes. She grabbed little Coraline as well, and made
her way to the garden. There was a black cat resting on top of some stones, he
glared at Coraline as soon as he heard her steps, she simply went to him and
started to pat his head.
"Hey there, kitten."
He purred in response, feeling her fingers gently running through his fur. His
eyes glared to the doll she was holding, and hissed aggressively, Coraline fell
on her butt and stared at him, feeling a little bit scared. She noticed the
sudden change of humor, and tried to make a connection between things. Did she
make something wrong? Did she hit a wound while patting him?
"What is it, little fellow?" - she tried to approach him, but he started
hissing again, Coraline noticed he was staring at her little doll. "Are you
afraid of this doll?"
The cat simply denied with his head, Coraline noticed it and gasped both in
shock and surprise.
"C-can you understand me?"
This time, he agreed with his head.
"Does this doll bother you?"
Again, a 'yes'.

Before she could even think about doing something, he jumped on the Coraline
doll and started to attack it, his claws ripping the cotton, the button-eyes
flying to the ground and the cloth slowly falling off place. The girl squirmed
and pushed him away of her little doll, she liked the little Coraline, and now
it was nowhere to be seen.
"Hey! Why did you do this?! I liked my doll!"
He simply sat on the ground and stared her, his contemplative yellow yes
lurking into Coraline's soul. She shivered and slowly pushed her fears aside.
"Why did you do this?"
The cat glared to a house, it was the house of her neighbor, she didn't know
who lived there or if the house belonged to someone, but the cat could
obviously understand her, so maybe there was something to be found or some
answers on why he wanted to destroy her doll.
"Do you want me to go there?
He nodded and she made her way to her neighbor's house, knocking on the door
waiting for something to happen. After a few moments of unending waiting, a man
appeared and looked at the little Coraline, confusion on her face. He was a
tall guy, his legs as thin as a toothpick, his arms the same way. However, he
was still fat. As strange as it may sound.
"Hello there, Coraline!" - he saluted her with a handshake and jumped out of
his house.
"How do you know my name?" - she looked at his eyes, he looked sleepy and maybe
- just maybe - he was under the effect of something really, really strange.
"The cat, Coraline, the cat!"
"What do you mean by 'the cat'?"
"What do I mean? The cat told me everything, girl!" - he laughed. "My name is
Bobinsky, it is a pleasure to meet you, finally."
She was really confused by that point. She met a cat that could understand what
she said and that destroyed her little Coraline. Then, the cat made her go to
this 'Bobinsky' and talk to him about what? She didn't know, in fact, she
didn't understand a single thing of what the man said, he was way too strange
and his accent was funny.
"I don't understand, Mr. Bobinsky."
"What is it that you can't understand, Coraline?"
"Why did the cat send me here?"
"Oh, yes, of course! - he laughed again. "He wanted me to tell you that right
now, you are in danger, kid. Pay attention to things when you go to the other
world, things you see there seem nice, however, they are but a trap to enslave
your soul."
"What?"
The man simply disappeared, his laugh echoing through the woods and his words
echoing through her mind. She tried to revisit the previous night and remember
every little detail. Her other mother was really cool, her food was amazingly
and insanely good, the juices were also incredible, but why did she remember a
weird feeling? What happened after dinner? She didn't know, she didn't
remember. However, she was sure she remembered something was wrong, something
felt wrong while she was in that place, but what was it?
Her head started to ache and she decided to stop thinking about all of that for
the moment, at least she knew she had to be careful on her next actions. She
wasn't afraid of her other mother, she couldn't remember much, but she was sure
she felt weird near her. If she could visit that place again, of course she
would. Her other mother was affectionate, she showed love and cared about her,
somehow, she was starting to think her other mom was better than her real mom.
However, her father at least seemed more caring, she hadn't met her other
father. Lots and lots of things still needed to happen before she could have a
definitive answer on what was better. But that was a chance for her to talk to
her other mother, see what was happening and maybe solve some of her problems
if she could.
She went back home and ran to her bedroom, no point in annoying her mother
while she worked, it was only going to cause her trouble. She looked at her
friends' picture and smiled happily at their memories.
The night quickly came, she hadn't done much during day-time, her parents were
already asleep by then. She was wearing pajamas, a blue sweater, blue pants and
blue socks. She ran downstairs to the little door, quickly opening it. A huge
smiled popped on her face when she saw the purple tunnel again, she quickly
crawled towards it.
Chapter End Notes
This chapter was rather small, but next chapter I'll explore the
other world a bit more, it will probably be a chapter only about that
world, or most of it about that anyway.

Chapter Summary
     Coraline explores The Other World
Chapter Notes
     Hey!
Took me longer than I'd like to come back, sorry! ;3
In the time I was off, I tried really hard to write this story, but I
think I was a little burned out so I had to stop, I'd rather leave
the story as it is than to upload a shitty chapter, I hope you
     understand!
     Enjoy!
"Hey, sweetie! I'm glad you're back!" - Coraline hugged her Other Mother.
"I missed you... mom!"
Coraline was still getting used to her "new" mother. She was already amazed by
that world, her other mom seemed to love her way more than the original one,
and she needed that love, she needed to feel safe, she needed someone to care
about her, and she found it. However, she still needed to play smart, she
needed to be smarter than her Other Mother because she remembered what Mr.
Bobinsky told her.
"I missed you too, dear. How was your day?"
"Well..." - she sighed. "I think my real mom doesn't like me, she never plays
with me. And I lost my little Coraline."
"Oh, you lost your doll?!" - Beldam almost screamed, but she managed to calm
herself down before scaring Coraline. "Dearest, I'll make you a new one, okay?
Come here tomorrow and it will be waiting for you!"
At first, the girl was astonished by the sudden change of humor, but calmed
down with the proposal. She didn't know why, but the doll made her feel safe,
somehow, she felt closer to her Other Mother while holding it.
"Yay! You're the best, mom!" - they hugged again.
Her embrace was... different. She felt completely cosy and protected, but that
wasn't all. Somehow, she felt a small warm sensation down there too. She didn't
understand, she was too young and innocent to understand what that meant. There
was apparently no reason for that to happen, but it did, and her whole body
started to get warm, her face burning, embarrassed. She gently tried to push
Beldam away to see if that weird feeling would go away, she didn't want to feel
that way. It was already weird for her to have a new mom, but it was even
weirder for her special place to get warm near her. Did she want to pee or
something like that? Probably not, it was the first time she felt that way, and
it never happened when she needed to go to the restroom. The older woman
noticed her daughter trying to break their hug, so she backed away slightly.
"Is everything alright, dear? You're blushing too much."
For Coraline, that feeling was weird and unexpected, she thought it came from
nowhere. However, the Other World wasn't normal, neither was her Other Mom.
Beldam knew what was happening, her plan was starting to work, slowly but
steady. She wanted the girl to give in to her, but for Coraline to understand
what was happening, it would take time. Lots of kids went to her Other World,
all of them eventually fell to her tricks and met death, but not this one.
Coraline was different, she was a special girl. Smart, lovely and... beautiful.
Yeah, beautiful. One of the most beautiful creatures Beldam had ever seen, if
not the most beautiful of them all. She was pure, innocent and it all fell
together perfectly. She didn't want to kill this one, in fact, she wanted
Coraline to herself. She wanted to feel her, to touch her deeply. Beldam is a
selfish creature, Coraline wasn't hers, but soon, she would be, because she
didn't know how to share.
"Y-yeah, I'm fine." - she was indeed blushing, a deep red covering her face.
"Where is dad?"
"Your father is rather busy right now, sweetie."
Again, the same excuse for the second time in a row. The girl wasn't dumb, and
for her dad to go missing, something happened.
"What happened to him?"
"I already told you, sweetheart, he is making a special surprise for you, but
it is quite big, so he is putting a lot of effort on it."
"When can I meet him, mom? I can't wait to see him!"
Beldam was slightly annoyed by that comment. Of course it was important for the
girl to see her Other Father, he's part of her plan as well, but she was
jealous. The girl already had her, why the heck was she so excited to see her
father? Her chest burned, jealously wasn't something she felt regularly, and it
felt terrible. But that's how she was, jealous of her girl, again, she didn't
know how to share.
"Soon, dear, soon. But for now, why don't you go for a walk outside while I
cook our dinner? Just don't go to the garden yet, we'll go there together very
soon!"
"Alright mom." - she smiled and went away, leaving the kitchen.
It was dark outside, but the moon was so bright she could see everything! The
trees were full of green leafs, the grass was super green too. Everything was
bright, everything was alive. Totally the opposite of her real house, where
there were dead trees everywhere, there was almost no grass and happiness was
nowhere to be seen.
She was humming a song while walking around the house, and she had the
brilliant idea to visit Mr. Bobinsky's house, maybe he could tell her what was
happening there and why she felt weird. She rushed through the stairs and
quickly nocked on his door. After waiting for a few moments, the man opened his
door, and was happy to see the girl there.
"Oh! Hello, Coraline, you're finally here!" - he grabbed her hand and laid a
small kiss, she smiled too. "Come inside, I prepared a magnificent show for
you!"
She went inside, the man was wearing a beautiful blue suit with a butterfly
red-striped tie. Coraline was amazed by how big his house was, from outside, it
seemed like it was a very tiny house, but inside it was insanely huge, it was
like she was visiting a theater. There were thousands of chairs everywhere, and
in the front, there was a huge stage with red curtains covering it.
"Sit where you want, my little girl, the show is about to start!" - he left
Coraline and ran behind the curtains.
She sat right in the front, waiting for it to start. She was super excited, not
knowing what to expect. Again, Bobinsky seemed like he was under the effect of
something really, really strong. But she didn't know, and thought he was a
funny guy, Coraline liked his company somehow, because the man managed to make
her laugh every single time they met. This Bobinsky and the real one were
really similar, the only difference she could spot is that this one was wearing
fancy clothing. The curtains slowly parted and revealed Mr. Bobinsky in the
center of the stage, his arms were pointing upwards.
"Good night, my lady!" - he bowed. "My name is Bobinsky, but you can call me
Bobinsky! And this is my show!"
She laughed again. Coraline went there to talk to him, but what did she want to
say? She couldn't quite remember, she was too entertained with that show to
remember. Suddenly, a lot of rats began crawling their way out of Bobinsky's
clothing, they were running in circles around the man, it scared Coraline a
little bit, she didn't like rats at all, she actually felt disgusted by them.
Then, Mr. Bobinsky kneeled and pointed his arms upwards again.
"My little friends, let's go!"
The rats got on their feet and lifted their small arms upwards too. A funny
music started to play on the background and all of them - Bobinsky included -
started to shake their arms like a worm. Coraline was surprised at first, she
didn't understand how he managed to make the rats learn that trick, but after a
few moments of shock, she started to laugh like there was no tomorrow. It was
the funniest thing she had ever seen in her whole life. In a rush of happiness,
she started to copy them, shaking her arms too, pretending to be part of the
show. She was part of it somehow.
"Are you having fun, girl?" - Coraline screamed.
The cat was sitting by her side, those big feline eyes staring deeply into
hers. Where did he came from? What was he doing there? And the most important
question of all: WHY WAS HE TALKING TO HER?
"YOU CAN TALK?!"
"Of course I can talk."
"H-HOW?"
"I just can, do you know why you can talk?"
"Well, I am a human, you're a cat. Cats don't talk!"
"Well, I'm a talking cat then."
Bobinsky was still dancing with his rats, too busy to notice what was happening
there. Coraline was still utterly shocked by the fact that the cat not only
could understand her but could talk as well. Maybe she was the one under the
effect of something really potent and strong, and not Bobinsky. She laughed at
the thought.
"Why are you here, kitten?"
"I could ask the same of you, Coraline. Didn't Bobinsky tell you about the
dangers of this world?"
"He did, but..." - she was cut.
"Then, why did you come back? This place is dangerous, kid! You shouldn't come
here again, you are in great danger while staying here, Beldam will do what she
can to keep you here forever!"
Coraline looked down, she forgot to switch clothes and her socks were all dirty
by running on the grass. She tried her best to understand why she was in danger
in that world, she knew something felt weird about that place, but nothing
seemed to connect, nothing seemed to represent problems to her, she only wanted
to be loved.
"Beldam... is my Other Mother?"
"Indeed, kid. And if you want to see your parents again, never come back,
forget about this place, lock the small door tightly and go on with your life."
"But... I like staying here... Everything seems funny here, my world is boring
and my mom doesn't like me."
"Coraline," - he moved his paw to her hand. "Your mother loves you, Beldam
doesn't. The one single moment you open yourself to that monster, you're lost
forever. Please, listen to what I say and stay away."
The girl didn't understand, and it made her sad. She didn't say goodbye to Mr.
Bobinsky, she simply left his house with the cat and they started walking back
to the house.
"She's going to offer you dinner right now, isn't she?" - the cat asked.
"Yeah, she told me to go for a walk while she finished cooking."
"Don't eat anything she gives you, Coraline. The more you eat, the hardest it
is to go away, do you understand?"
"I wish I understood, kitten, I wish I did. But I'll do as you tell. I'll go to
sleep and try to stay away from here."
She went inside the house, sadness filling her heart. She liked being there,
but needed to go away for some reason she didn't understand. Her Other Mother
was waiting for her in the dinner table, her fingers hitting the table
nervously.
"You're finally here, sweetie! Come on, let's eat!"
"I'm not hungry, mom." - she faked a yawn to try and convince her. "I went to
Mr. Bobinsky's house and we were playing until now, I just want to sleep."
Beldam bit her lower lip. She needed Coraline to eat, otherwise she wouldn't be
able to convince the girl as quick as she wanted. However, scaring the girl to
the bone wouldn't help either, so she simply agreed. Beldam held Coraline's
hand and they went upstairs to her bedroom. Coraline laid on the bed, and
closed her eyes, ready to go to sleep.
"Let's get you a new pair of socks, shall we? You can't go to sleep with those
dirty ones!"
The Other Mother took her socks off. She walked out of the bedroom for a few
seconds, the girl awaited for her calmly. She came back with another pair of
blue socks and sat on the bed, next to Coraline.
"Oh my, you have cute feet, sweeheart! I hadn't noticed that!" - she kissed her
thumb and made Coraline laugh slightly.
She had her new socks, and was ready to sleep. It would be her last sleep in
that world, because she couldn't go back. Of course, she felt somewhat weird
there, but most of the time it was happiness. She didn't understand, she
couldn't understand.
"Good night, my dear Coraline." - she kissed her forehead and was ready to go
away.
"Mommy..."
"What is it, honey?"
"Can you sleep with me today?"
Beldam smiled. Coraline was starting to like her, which was a good thing. The
girl was sad that she had to leave that world, but at least she wanted to feel
her mom one last time. The older woman climbed on the bed and spooned Coraline.
They slept tightly embraced, Coraline felt safe and loved.
